I shot this at the Vancouver Aquarium while Lindsay, Geoff and Briony were here (the same trip that resulted in photos of a very happy Briony on Caitlin’s blog). It was one of the first things I shot on my Zi6. It was really dark, which made for a really grainy picture, so I had to do a bit of post-processing. I ended up needing to do less than I thought, though, even keeping all the original colours from the camera. That said, if this has taught me one thing, it’s that it’s time to upgrade our computer. The anti-grain filters took five hours to render. On my computer at work, I probably could have spit it out in a couple minutes.
