LaFarge's Dark Contract IN THE YEAR 2999

The time: 2999AD
The place: THE FUTURE

In the Future, rap has been outlawed. LaFargeCo is now in control of most of the major world governments. Fueled by their fear that rappers were on the verge of discovering the Uberrhyme, they cracked down on illicit rhymes, killing those who would wield its power… or worse.

Rappers were forced to seek shelter in the darkest corners of the CyberSphere, where they could meet and trade their sick beats without LaFargeCo’s intervention. But LaFargeCo found out about these gatherings, and they dealt with them swiftly, creating a mutant army of half-man, half-machine CyberPigs to shut down their underground forums. Those LaFargeCo couldn’t kill, they signed, auto-tuning the soul from their words so that rap would be disgraced forever.

All hope seemed lost for the world. Without the power of the Uberrhyme, no one could stand in LaFargeCo’s way. The world was under their well-manicured thumb.

But then, deep in the CyberWeb, a message called out in the dark — “If you care about dope rhymez, meet me at Lucifer’s Underground – Boi”.

The great rhymesmith Chef Boi R-D hadn’t been heard from in 999 years. It’s impossible that Boi could have lived that long… or could it be that the rumours of cryogenics were true?

I thing I love most about these stories is the fact that you never actually rap or even write the lyrics to any of the rap but rather refer to it in vague sense. I wish real rap was the same way.

Is it weird that I just listened to that to hear your voice again? :(

I love that the soundtrack isn’t even vaguely rap – no sick beats to be heard.
